Students at Blanche

Blanche warmly welcomes people from all walks of life into her classes. She does not schedule classes or events for specific groups, instead she prioritizes fostering a supportive, positive, inclusive learning environment for everyone so we can learn from one another. To ensure we all know the score, Blanche asks every member of the Blanche Improv community to follow her Code of Conduct and students are required to abide by the Student Agreement.

The curriculum

The Blanche Improv curriculum is informed by years of training and performance experience in long form and short form improv, as well as theatre techniques including Strasberg, Commedia Dell’Arte and Laban.

Blanche’s core programs are taught as weekly courses and include 8 classes and a performance at Blanche Improv. Improv classes are two and a half hours long with a maximum of 12 participants and writing courses are three hours with a maximum of 8 participants.

Blanche also offers drop in classes, which require no ongoing commitment.

Coaches

Blanche Improv classes are taught by coaches with decades of improv, performance and teaching experience. (Yeah, Blanche’s coaches look very young… but they’re not.)

Location

All of the Blanche’s in classes and student Show Cases take place at Blanche Improv HQ in London SW5 9EF, a short walk from Earls Court station.

Cost

Blanche does her best to ensure her classes and courses are as affordable as possible.

The concession rate applies to people on benefits, low income earners and actors equity members.

In addition to concession rates, Blanche offers payment plans, discounts to students who do front of house shifts and has a ‘Pay it Forward’ program. If you’d like to discuss any of these, please email Blanche.
